Getting to Casa Rosa
We’re remote but well situated: an hour and 15 minutes from Pisa airport, two hours from Florence by car, three-ish hours by car from Milan. And there is a reasonably frequent train from Pisa to Fornacci de Barga, the small town at the foot of our hill. Then there is ‘the last mile’ = the climb up the hill from Fornacci, into the mountains and Tiglio Basso, and our own little dirt road.
Our official address is: Casa Rosa, Colle di Tiglio 4, Tiglio, Barga 55050 LU
More important is the Google address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gqRfsTqhGz214coR6
….and What3words:
NB: If you are driving from Pisa (or from Florence via Pisa) you are aiming for Fornaci di Barga, not Barga!

Driving from Pisa Airport
Most people are coming from Pisa Airport or Pisa train station. Either way the directions to Fornaci di Barga are roughly the same.
From the airport, you have two main options: Via the motorway, or avoiding the motorway. In either case, remember that you are aiming for Fornaci di Barga.

The Last Mile
The first time you turn off the main road and start in the direction of Filecchio and Tiglio Basso is a bit daunting: all uphill, very narrow and concluding with a turn onto our direct that everyone (including local tradesmen either miss or consider too improbable to turn onto. In fact, once you’ve done it you realize it’s unproblematic. Moreover, most other drivers are good humoured and careful as they are in the same situation.
People have found this pdf helpful for that first time. A bit more reassuring than just relying on a Google pin:
